Speech Scotland™ can provide bespoke training programmes to all early years establishments. We can train early years educators to be able to identify when speech and language development is not age appropriate and teach them how to adapt the childs environment to create opportunities for communication. We can equip your staff with strategies to include children who have difficulty participating in structured tasks.
All programmes can be built around your specific needs, both in terms of time, and staff working patterns. Where appropriate we can include, follow up, check-ins and mentoring to ensure that our training is implemented in the most effective way.
Hanen Programmes
The Hanen programmes provide evidence based workshops & resources to help early years professionals develop childhood language and literacy skills. Speech Scotland™ offers the Hanen programmes below, and training will be delivered by a speech therapist who has been delivering Hanen training for fifteen years.

Designed for parents of young children with language delay, to enhance language development using every day routines and play-based activities.
LEARNING LANGUAGE & LOVING IT
Designed for early childhood educators to promote language development. It teaches strategies to include children of all communication styles and needs.

Intended to improve social communication interactions and play skills for children with social communication disorder
TEACHER TALK
Similar to Learning Language & Loving It, Teacher Talk offers a more flexible & streamlined programme including language, literacy & peer interaction
